I guess crushes are a part of the human experience. There are good things about them, and bad things about them, but I think if you understand them they have less power over you.

In the end one of the definitions of crush that I like the best refers to holding someone tightly to you, a full-body hug, or, as the dictionary puts it, "embrace strongly". I'm not very touchy-feely but I envied people who were.

Sometimes with the people I have crushes on what I really want to do is embrace them strongly, to transfer to them the strength of my regard, to reassure each other of our physical beings, and to tell them that they have made my passage on earth a better one, just for having been who they are.
